Karolina is an assistant researcher on disability rights at Human Rights Watch. Karolina focuses particularly on shackling and abuses against people with psychosocial disabilities, and discrimination in access to education for children with disabilities. Before joining the Disability Rights Division, Karolina worked for the Communications division and International Justice Program at Human Rights Watch. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, she worked at the foreign desk of an Italian press agency, and as a freelance translator. Karolina holds a master’s degree in human rights and conflict management from the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, and a master’s degree in Italian philology from the Jagiellonian University. She speaks Polish, English, Italian, and French.
