Adriana Masgras is a senior coordinator in the Disability Rights Division at Human Rights Watch.

She manages the team's record-keeping, team building and professional development, and finances, and coordinates research and advocacy projects concerning disability rights in Europe/Central Asia, Middle East/North Africa, Africa, and Asia, as well as older people's rights worldwide. Her main interest is mental health and she coordinates the organization's efforts to end the chaining of people with psychosocial disabilities.

Adriana is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Human Rights at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg, specializing in Human Rights of Refugees, Gender and Human Rights, Business and Human Rights, and International Criminal Law.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Padua and has 6+ years of previous professional experience within the South Australian Department for Child Protection, mostly case managing children and young people placed in long-term alternative care and triaging notifications of child abuse and neglect.

Adriana is passionate about the rights of children, persons with disabilities, and migrants and has a keen interest in investigative work.

She is fluent in English, Italian, and Romanian and is learning French and German.
