Corrections to our publications
Human Rights Watch strives to maintain the highest level of accuracy in our reporting. This includes a commitment to correcting errors or clarifying facts that appear in our publications in a timely fashion. Corrections appear both on this dedicated webpage and at the bottom of the publication that contained the error.
We cannot reply individually to all corrections requests, but all such requests that specify the exact nature of the alleged inaccuracy and the publication (title, page number / web address and date) in which it appeared will be reviewed. If you believe you have found an inaccuracy in our materials, please contact us.
Errors contained in social media posts under Human Rights Watch and staff accounts will also be corrected in a prompt and transparent manner.

Recent Corrections
2/13: Human Rights Watch corrected the reference to the Montana Group to explain the Group´s actions more accurately.
Update January 17, 2023: This chapter has been updated to reflect the correct year of the Labor Law.
The reporting was withdrawn by Der Speigel in late November 2022 because of concerns about the accuracy of some of the claims, including whether the group was on Greek territory for the entire period.
The chapter has been corrected to indicate that the European Commission recommended granting candidate status to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The chapter has been corrected to clarify that the case decided by the Sarajevo municipal court in April 2022 was brought by the Sarajevo Open Centre and found incitement to discrimination.
On January 18, 2023, the Turkey chapter of the World Report was amended to rectify the omission of a reference to the ongoing persecution of people with perceived links with the Fethullah Gülen movement.
12/20/2022: This dispatch has been redacted to reflect the correct date of the attack.
12/15/2022: The text has been changed to reflect the fact that the threats against Staszewski are connected to the Atlas of Hate campaign which involves other activists, and his photo project.
The paragraph about the process of referring the abortion ban the Constitutional Tribunal has been changed to address an editing error. In fact, the citizen’s initiatives triggered the government attempts to pass similar legislation in 2016 and 2019.

12/13/2022: This version of the press release has been updated to reflect the correct spelling of Mehdi Karami's name and the date of the beginning of the protests.
Indonesia’s new criminal code provision on apostasy is article 302, not 304 as originally cited.
