Human Rights Watch's advocacy efforts around Kyrgyz President Askar Akaev's visit to Washington

to U.S. President Bush in anticipation of the September 23 summit, Human Rights Watch urged the
administration to use the meeting to seek concrete human rights improvements and a commitment to
genuine reform.
